NYC Trainers

DanceBody is seeking NYC-based, experienced fitness instructors to join our close-knit team of inspiring + motivating trainers. Our mission is to provide a fun and effective workout, by infusing functional training with the playfulness of dance. Qualifying candidates will complete our Apprentice Training Program, giving them the tools to lead classes and private clients both in person and virtually. Successful trainers will have an openness to learn, the confidence and energy to deliver the DanceBody experience, and are an active member of the community that is shaping the future of dance fitness.

DanceBody Qualities:

  • Motivational Skills: Ability to learn, adapt and excel at DanceBody’s way of teaching, communicating and training to keep clients coming back

  • Communication Skills: Be kind, encouraging and empathetic towards both clients and staff

  • Listening Skills: DanceBody trainers must be able to "read the room"

  • Time Management Skills: Come prepared to each class, private session and staff training with appropriate equipment, choreography and mindset 


  • Completion of our Apprentice Training Program

  • Ability to pick up choreography quickly, make corrections in class, and maintain your individuality while keeping the authenticity of DanceBody's method

  • Monthly committed availability; submitted one month prior 

  • Respectful communication with our Private Client Coordinator to schedule all Private Client training

  • Being a team player at all time


  • Professional / Semi-professional Dance experience

  • Fitness experience and certifications preferred but not required

  • College Degree preferred but not required

  • General knowledge of programs such as MindBody + Shopify to assist with classes and clients

NYC Studio Manager

DanceBody is seeking an NYC based Studio Manager who will contribute to company growth by expertly and efficiently managing the operations, sales strategies, and staff of our NYC studios and Pop Up locations. The ideal candidate has a passion for fitness and DanceBody’s brand. This person is interpersonally sharp, can creatively problem solve, lead a team and holds a strong business acumen. He/she embodies integrity and confidence, is a role model, is bold, is strategic, and is responsible for and the ultimate owner of the success and health of your business.

The responsibilities and duties of this position described here are representative of those an employee must perform. This is not a comprehensive list and other duties may be assigned.



  • Open and/or close DanceBody’s TriBeCa and NoMad studio(s) 5 days per week 

  • Manage day-to-day studio upkeep and repairs 

  • Manage MindBody classes, pricing set up, and troubleshooting 

  • Analyze and manage weekly and monthly studio performance reports (class attendance, retail, in-studio private bookings, conversions, memberships sold) 

  • Manage in-studio and off-site equipment and retail with Head of Retail 

  • Manage in-studio and off-site supplies budget and ordering

  • Coordinate vendor deliveries (towels, cleaners, water, etc.) 


  • Oversee the hiring, onboarding and development of all Studio Assistants

  • Build and manage studio shift schedule for Studio Assistants and approve time sheets

  • Communicate all updates, performance, and studio specific goals to your team and provide in-the-moment feedback when necessary

  • Continuously identify and develop high potential team members by addressing your studio’s needs and identifying your team’s strengths and areas of improvement

  • Maintain a positive team environment while enforcing proper work ethics and expectations

  • Coach your team on sales tactics, time management, and prioritization of tasks to ensure goals are met

  • Conduct regular team meetings and perform evaluations of your staff 


  • Meet monthly membership, client conversions, and sales goals for studio services and retail

  • Oversee and promote in-studio challenges

  • Identify and execute new opportunities that drive studio growth or community impact

  • Ensure that all company-wide initiatives are executed in your studio

  • Acknowledge your team’s wins and show gratitude 


  • Maintain DanceBody’s standards of appearance and client experience in line with brand aesthetics

  • Ability to speak to the DanceBody workouts and ethos 

  • Confidently and proactively identify and address difficult situations

  • Build relationships with trainers, clients and studio team 

  • Manage main email address

  • Oversee client accounts and memberships at a high level of personalized customer service (check-in, early/late cancel, follow-up via email, guest issues, user support, late cancels, etc.) 

  • Ensure each client has a positive and personable experience in our studio 

  • Provide creative insights on how to make DanceBody better for our clientele 


  • Personable with superior customer service skills

  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills 

  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask 

  • Ability to lead and communicate clearly with clients, members, and senior management

  • Open to change and able to embrace and manage those changes within your studio and your team

  • Receives and gives performance feedback constructively

  • Light lifting may be required

  • Work and travel between DanceBody’s 2 New York City studios, pop-ups, and DanceBody headquarters 

  • Must be able to work flexible/non-traditional hours including weekends and some holidays

NYC Front Desk Associates

DanceBody is looking for committed Front Desk Associates to join our entrepreneurial team and positively impact the growth of our company. Our studio team is the heart of DanceBody and plays a vital role in keeping our customers happy and thriving. These key individuals are responsible for providing clients with the best service experience and assisting DanceBody Trainers by helping with class flow, studio appearance, and overall brand knowledge. 


  • Welcoming clients to the studio with enthusiasm, energy and knowledge of the DanceBody workouts and ethos

  • Providing knowledge around the services offered, including but not limited to; pricing options, retail products, DanceBody LIVE platform, and general company information to clients, potential clients and on phone inquiries 

  • Assist with client relations (check-in, early/late cancel, memberships, retail purchases, vaccination records, etc.) and ensure each client has a positive and personable experience in our studio 

  • Handling client’s concerns in a professional and objective manner with the goal of resolution

  • Selling packages, memberships and retail to meet sales goals to help the studio thrive

  • Support DanceBody Trainers to ensure seamless class transitions

  • Maintain the studio appearance, keeping in line with brand aesthetic at all times including but not limited to:

    • Equipment set up 

    • Studio upkeep

    • Light cleaning

    • Restocking supplies and inventory reporting

    • Organizing retail

  • Capturing creative content during studio classes to be shared with the trainer after class 

  • Oversee the setup of LIVE classes to ensure camera, lights, and livestream are working correctly

  • Assisting at events or studio challenges, as needed


  • Ability to multitask while staying present for clients

  • Passion for fitness 

  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills

  • Prior experience in hospitality or wellness industry

  • Professional and polite phone and email etiquette

  • Ability to be on time and dependable, as this role may be opening/closing the studio. Having flexibility and the willingness to cover your teammates when they can't work is a MAJOR plus

  • General social media knowledge

  • Ability to capture compelling content 

  • Owns and knows how to use an iPhone and shared albums 

  • MindBody and sales experience, preferred


  • Part time, committing to a minimum of 12 hours/week and maximum 30 hours/week

  • Flexibility to work in a non-traditional schedule, weekends, early mornings/late evenings and/or some holidays


  • $18/hour
